Depending on where you live, the restrictions on gatherings may be different. Always follow those guidelines and avoid breaking them. You do not want to end up risking the health of your family, especially if you live in an area that is dangerous.

If You Can Gather, Be Cautious

Some people live in areas where they see their families often, and maybe there’s less of a restriction. Even so, it’s important for you to be cautious whenever you gather. If you can have the gathering outside in an area that’s not cold, maybe do so and separate tables.

If you can only do it inside, follow all social distancing guidelines and stay sanitary. Wear a mask when not eating.

Cooking a Big Meal

One of the appeals of the holidays is cooking a big meal for your family. Even if it’s just you, your spouse, and your kids, have a little feast. If you are feeling discouraged from cooking, maybe order some Doordash. However, we recommend to cook a little meal. Roast a turkey, make a salad, and have a good time. While the meal may be smaller, the memories you create are anything but.

Have a Virtual Feast

Another way for you to have a good holiday feast this COVID-19 is to talk with your extended family through video chat. Maybe they can make their own meals and all of you can feast together. Yes, it’s not quite the same, but in these times, it is the safest way. See if your other family members can do it, and then try doing so.

You Can Always Postpone

The holidays especially Thanksgiving about being thankful, and when we express what we are thankful for, we tend to be happy that we and the rest of our family are healthy. Because of that, you don’t want to risk your family’s health, now do you?

The beauty of a feast is that you can do it any time of year. You do not need to wait until November. You can push it back and gather when it’s safe to do so. Don’t feel like you have to eat dinner out of an obligation.
