For moms that are trying to go to school, work, study and still take care of the families they love, life can seem really overwhelming at times. From studying with a little one on your lap to trying to get work done for the office while cooking dinner, it's no wonder that moms are stressed beyond belief most of the time.

So stressed, in fact, that some moms end up turning to alcohol, drugs, or other pick-me-up options to try and cope. If you're one of those moms and feel that you have a problem, there is help for women's addiction in Southern California out there, just waiting on you to ask for it. There are also quite a few tips for busy moms who need to de-stress in the midst of their busy lives. Below you can find a few of those tips to help you stay the course until you graduate and things calm down a bit.

Do Something that Makes You Happy

This first tip may sound insanely easy, but in reality, if you sit down and think about it, you'll see that it isn't. You're constantly putting things that you enjoy off studying or running the kids somewhere, heading to class, or just spending time with your family. While these things are super important, so is doing something that makes you a happy camper as well. Now, think of one thing that you could do tomorrow that would put a smile on your face. Whether it's curling up on the couch and watching Netflix or laying in a hammock with the latest best-seller from your favorite author, if it makes you happy, make plans to do it right away. You'll be surprised at how much better you'll feel when you do.

Try a Gentle Form of Exercise

Sometimes what you need to relieve stress is gentle exercise, instead of running on the treadmill at full speed. Instead, try some gentle forms of exercise, such as yoga, pilates, or even a short round of meditation. Not only do these exercises help to relieve stress, but they also help you to lose weight if you're looking to take off a few pounds at the same time. Remember, exercise doesn't have to be painful to work, or to relieve stress levels, making it a win-win in both categories.

Invest in Some Herbal Teas

Many busy moms pretty much live on coffee and other types of caffeine. If you're looking to stop being jittery and overwhelmed, you need to invest in some herbal teas. From lavender and honey teas to green tea lattes, there are quite a few teas out there that are not only healthy but are stress relievers as well.

Clean and Organize

If you're like most mothers, the more cluttered and dirty your house is, the more stressed you become, even though you're super busy and just not able to clean it the way you want to. Take a deep breath, then take some time to clean and organize your house. Start with the areas you work in and live in the most. Try setting a timer and cleaning and organizing for 15 minutes at a time. Then do something else that you need to do, rinse, and repeat. Don't forget to take a few breaks during that time as well. Your body needs to rest, and so does your mind.

These are just a few tips for busy moms in school to feel less stressed. Whether you're in school, on the job, or just have a hectic life as a busy mom, these tips will help you be happier and healthier as well.
