Get a Smart Thermometer

It’s easy to forget to turn your thermostat up and down to accommodate for fluctuating temperatures. If you fail to change your thermostat enough, you could end up running your heat or air conditioner unnecessarily and rack up significant power bills. Installing a smart thermostat is an easy fix. These thermostats automatically regulate the temperature inside your home according to the temperature outside. Not only does this reduce your mental load, but it also helps your house preserve energy.

Designate an Area for Recycling

Everyone produces a lot of waste. You can have a significant impact on your carbon footprint if you start recycling some of your trash. You may find this easy to do if you dedicate a certain space in your home as a recycling center. Educate everyone in your family on which materials can be recycled and which ones must be thrown into the regular trash. It may take a few months to get in the habit of recycling, but once you get into the routine, it becomes second nature. You can even take this a step further and recycle food waste into a compost pile in your backyard to fertilize your garden.
