From time to time, you may find yourself in a situation where you need to take certain medical tests. Apart from the usual personal health checks, you may need to take these tests to certify the requirements of an employer, sports body, or spouse (HCG test), for instance. In many of these cases, urine is the primary sample used in the test. To pass these tests, sometimes people use fake pee or urine that is not their own.

Some cheat urine tests by diluting the sample, whereas others substitute the original sample with fake urine or urine from another person. Others add substances that tamper with the test results in what is known as adulteration. Whichever the case, fake pee is becoming a very common way to beat urine tests these days. Athletes, prospective employees, and other people use them to pass the urine test for drugs or illicit substances. But is your privacy ever guaranteed when using fake pee? Starting with a definition of synthetic pee, here are a few tips on privacy protection in fake urine tests.

What Is Synthetic Pee?

As you might have guessed from the name, synthetic pee or fake urine is a synthetically manufactured product that mimics human pee. It resembles human urine in chemical structure as well as the physical properties such as pH, gravity, and uric acid. Modern synthetic urine primarily comes in liquid form in a small container. However, fake pee is also available in powder form, which only requires adding water to form a solution. As explained earlier, folks use synthetic pee to pass urine tests that seek to detect drug use and other forms of intoxication. They help people avoid facing the consequences associated with being caught having such toxins in the body. Let’s now look at a few pointers about privacy protection when taking a fake pee test.

1. Prohibition of Unauthorised Personnel

A fake pee test must also be kept in confidentiality and protected by your healthcare provider cum lab technician. He must ensure that the urine specimen is collected at a secured laboratory to protect it from landing into the hands of unauthorized persons. The technician should store the specimen in a safe and secure place.

Most laboratory facilities usually have special collection and storage points in the clinic. The specimen should not be handled by third parties to avoid any form of adulteration except the donor and the technician. If the specimen is to be transported, it should be sealed and secured to eliminate any possibility of tampering with your pee. As the donor, this, (along with the points that follow), makes it important to seek the right facility when getting a urine test using fake pee.

2. Privacy Mindset

Healthcare providers are most of the time compromised to divulge the drug test results, either by (other) employers, family members, or interested entities. This should never happen because the end results solely belong to the donor of the specimen.  As the lead lab technician overseeing the testing and collecting of specimens, you should instill and maintain the culture of confidence in your other junior lab technicians. Every patient loves to see his or her interests and concerns upheld in top security and privacy.

3. Quality Specimen Containers

Accuracy is always key to all patients as they give the specimen for test. While doing your tests, the quality of the containers used to collect the specimen must be of the required standards and quality. This helps ensure that the end result is not altered.

4. Encrypting Data

Lately, it has become increasingly important to protect sensitive information for patients. Protecting the patient's medical records should be the number one priority for every health facility. The confidential information given by the patients must be treated with the utmost care and protected from misuse, interference, loss, or even disclosure to third parties. Creating a password for this confidential information will not only keep it safe but ensure the intruders do not lay a hand on it. In addition to this, patient data should also be backed up regularly and stored safely.

Lastly, a lab technician is entrusted with crucial and sensitive information of hundreds of people every day. A breach of the same as a lab technician can cause serious repercussions, which include facing a lawsuit in a court of law for violating confidential information. But an individual or institution could violate the confidentiality clause and share your test results with unauthorized persons. If this happens to you after taking a fake pee test, you may have the right to seek justice from the courts.
